The first full-length X-Men Apocalypse trailer arrived, offering our best look yet at the latest film in the superhero franchise. The movie will focus on Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac), an ancient mutant who returns to challenge the X-Men.
The trailer opens on a young Jean Grey (played by Sophie Turner) waking up from a bad dream full of death. Professor X (James McAvoy) tries to comfort her, but it’s clear that she’s seen a glimpse of the future. Then we quickly cut to Apocalypse, who’s already recruiting mutants in his quest to conquer the earth.
“You are all my children and you’re lost because you follow blind leaders,” he says.”But i am here now. I’m here for you.”
From there it’s pretty much non-stop action. We see the rest of the cast including Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Olivia Munn as Psylocke. It looks like Apocalypse will recruit them both as two of his four horsemen, leaving Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) to lead the X-Men into battle.
The trailer ends with a climactic shot of Professor X, which we won’t ruin in case you haven’t watched it already. X-Men Apocalypse won’t be released until May 27, 2016 so we’re sure to see plenty more trailers and teasers leading up to the actual film.
