Star Wars-themed Google Cardboard free through Google Store (UPDATED)

by Brandon Russell | December 11, 2015

Remember those cool Star Wars Google Cardboard units Verizon was offering last week? Well, Google is also offering them, too—and they’re free. That’s right, you can head over to the Google Store right now and pick one of four Star Wars-themed Cardboards—BB-8, R2-D2, Kylo Ren, and First Order Stormtrooper—and Google will ship it to you free of charge. Orders should go out within 1-2 days, with units expected to ship by next Friday (just in time for the movie’s release).

I’ve been running into errors trying to order mine, though others in our office have been much more successful. You’re limited to one unit, so choose wisely. These are FREE, so there’s really no reason not to pick one up. Personally, I’m eyeing that Kylo Ren Cardboard. Which one did you pick up?

UPDATE: It looks like they are all sold out now, but keep your eyes peeled in case they add more stock.
