As part of AT&T’s buy one, get one free deal, 9to5Mac reports Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are also eligible for the promotion. The phone isn’t actually listed by AT&T in any advertising—Samsung’s Galaxy S6 is the one being promoted—but it turns out Apple is quietly taking part in the deal.
There are some caveats, however, so bear that in mind before you grab your nearest buddy and head on over to an AT&T store.
The deals requires AT&T Next, the carrier’s monthly financing plan, and buyers are required to continue service for at least 30 months to get the device for free; bill credits kick in after three months. Once you activate or upgrade to a new iPhone, you’ll receive a 16GB iPhone 6s for free—or credit toward another device.
Below is some of the fine print.
“Free device requires new line on AT&T Next 24 with 30-month 0% APR agreement (up to $21.67/month). Pay up to $65.01 on free device before credits start. If service canceled on 1, that device balance (up to $950) is due. Activation/upgrade & other fees, monthly & other charges & restrictions apply.”
It’s a pretty solid deal, and it’s doesn’t just apply to the iPhone 6s. The deal ends Dec. 31, so you only have a few more weeks to take advantage.
