Last month Xiaomi revealed two beautiful metal devices, but the Chinese company is just getting started. A new leak reveals what could be our best look yet at the long-rumored Mi5, and it’s looking pretty sweet.
The image, which surfaced on Chinese social network Weibo appears to be a render of the upcoming flagship phone. The Mi5 is pictured with a sleek metal frame and a physical home button. That suggests the device could sport a fingerprint reader in front. The design actually looks pretty similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S6, though with a reversible USB-C port on the bottom edge.
Of course it’s possible this render could be fake, though it does line up with earlier leaks. Either way we’re expecting something pretty great from Xiaomi, and if the Mi5 looks anything like the image above we won’t be complaining.
The Mi5 is expected to pack a Snapdragon 820 processor along with a metal frame and a fingerprint reader, but beyond that it’s mostly a mystery. According to Xiaomi’s CEO the phone is “worth the wait” and already being used internally. Hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer to see it for ourselves.
