PlayStation Messages hits iOS, Android, lets you easily chat with friends

As a PS4 gamer, this is an application I’ve been waiting for. Typically, if I receive an invite to play a game, like Star Wars Battlefront, for example, I’ll usually just try to log into the PlayStation app on my phone and let a friend know that I can’t make it. Maybe I’m eating dinner or something. The problem with that route, however, is that it’s kind of slow. Now Sony is fixing that with a dedicated messaging application.

PlayStation Messages recently hit the Google Play and iTunes App Stores for Android and iOS devices. It lets you quickly login and send messages to your fellow PlayStation friends. Group chat is supported, in case you want to chat with multiple people at once, and you can also opt to receive notifications of new messages, send stickers and more. Like the PlayStation app, voice messages and other attachments, such as photos, are also supported.
