Captain America: Civil War – Spider-Man’s costume will feature “a little twist”

According to Captain America: Civil War co-director Anthony Russo, the costume Spider-Man wears will come with “a little twist.” While speaking at the Comic Con Experience 2015 (CCXP) in Brazil, Russo shared a few details about what fans can expect from our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, revealing much of his costume will be produced with special effects.

Does that means we’ll see Spider-Man don his famous Iron Spider suit everyone knows and loves? Not exactly. We had actually heard a rumor from August saying the character would wear two different costumes throughout the movie: one that looks more homemade, and one that’s provided to him by Iron Man.

“The film will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for and a little twist,” Russo explained. “So yeah, that’s what I can tell you.”

Admittedly, that’s pretty vague, but it does sound to me like we will indeed see Spider-Man wear some form of his Iron Spider suite, just with that little twist Russo is talking about. However, the filmmakers are still “working on some things” when it come to the character’s uniform, so the look might not yet be finalized.

Russo also discussed the importance of getting the casting right for Spider-Man, and how “amazing” Tom Holland is in the role.

We have yet to see Tom Holland as Spider-Man, though we know he’s going to pop up in Captain America: Civil War, which is set for a May 6, 2016 release. Will we see him in a trailer before then? My guess is we’ll get a glimpse or two, but I doubt it’ll be in his fancy suit.
