Pixel C release rumored for next week

When Google revealed the Pixel C back in September, it promised to launch the Android-powered hybrid in time for the holidays. Now, with the holiday season officially in full swing, it looks like the device could be less than a week away.

A report from Dutch site Tweakers claims the Pixel C will be released on Tuesday, December 8. You’ll apparently be able to order the device straight from Google. The attachable keyboard will also be available, but costs an extra $149.

The tablet itself starts at $499 for the 32GB variant, and the price jumps a full $100 if you want 64GB of space. It also packs a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels, an NVIDIA X1 processor, 3GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, USB-C and a sleek aluminum design. The keyboard attaches magnetically, connects over Bluetooth and draws power straight from the Pixel C when in use.

If you’re looking for a full-sized Android tablet, this is a pretty strong contender. Hopefully Google really does plan to release the device next week, though at this point the company is quickly running out of time to make good on its promise of a holiday launch.
