Game of Thrones season 6 gets its first cryptic teaser

by Brandon Russell | December 3, 2015

The first trailer for season 6 of HBO’s Game of Thrones has hit, and although it doesn’t feature any new footage, it prominently features everyone’s favorite character: Jon Snow. A voiceover accompanies the footage, describing the past and how it can’t be changed. With it, we get a look at a lot of key deaths over the previous 5 seasons, including a quick reminder of the infamous Red Wedding.

At the end of the teaser, we got at look at Bran Stark overcome by greensight, which gives him the power to foresee the future and the ability to inhabit Summer. If you haven’t yet seen Game of Thrones, the end of season 5 brought Bran to a key location, where he is in turn offered the chance to further explore his powers of clairvoyance.

“They have no idea what’s going to happen,” Bran Stark utters.

What is he alluding to? We don’t know. Much of the focus is obviously on Jon Snow, who many expect won’t be dead by the time the next season rolls around. Guess we’ll get our answer when Game of Thrones returns next April.
