Looks like Activision was impressed with the response to Transformers: Devastation, so much so that it quickly snapped up developer Platinum Games for another run with one of its man-child licenses. This time, the beloved Japanese action studio will be grappling with none other than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Thanks to the Australian Classifications Board and the eagle eyes of Gematsu, we know that the game is titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, and it is in development for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. No mention of the Wii U.
The rating also reveals Platinum Games’ involvement, giving this licensed product a bit more credibility than the average cash-in.
This marks the third time that Platinum Games has worked with Activision, the previous two being Transformers: Devastation and The Legend of Korra. Platinum has to pay the bills, and I certainly don’t mind it bringing its expertise to games that would probably otherwise not be worth a mention.
And if I’m not mistaken, this is also the first time a Japanese developer has worked with the franchise since its excellent run with Konami back at the height of the arcade days. Oh, the flashbacks… they hurt!
