The Game Awards will have 10 world premieres this year

by Eric Frederiksen | November 30, 2015November 30, 2015 6:00 am PDT

After years of confusing and sometimes bizarre ceremonies, last year’s Game Awards actually managed to be watchable and had a great showing on streaming services like Twitch. As much as the ceremony has changed throughout its lifetime, one thing has always remained – a heavy focus on world premieres.

The premieres not only make sure people sit through the awards and drum up additional hype, there have been some genuinely cool premieres.

While showrunner Geoff Keighley isn’t saying just what we can look forward to – it wouldn’t be a premiere if he did – he did say on Twitter that we can look forward to 10 world premieres. That could be 10 new game announcements, but it’s likely there are a few trailer premieres and gameplay premieres in there alongside a few surprise announcements.

The show will have 10 awards handed out on stage, with others being announced off-stage. Here’s the list of categories and nominees for the show, which airs on December 3, as compiled by Entertainment Weekly:
