Volvo announces in-car delivery for holiday season

by Todd Haselton | November 28, 2015

Volvo just announced an in-car delivery service for Volvo owners. The only catch? You need to live in Volvo’s hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden and subscribe to Volvo On Call to take advantage of the service. Still, it’s pretty darn cool.

Say, for example, you want to order something for a friend or family member while you’re at work. A gift for the holidays, perhaps. Just order from one of the retailers Volvo is partnering with, including Lekmer (toys) and Mat.se (groceries), and a company named PostNord will deliver the goods right to your car. Volvo will hook the delivery team up with a special one-time digital key that will give them entrance to your vehicle, allowing them to swing by and toss a few toys in the trunk.

Folks living in Gothenburg should see the option for “In-car delivery” upon checking out from one of the aforementioned online retail locations. Volvo said it plans to expand the offering to other parts of Sweden and other countries in the future, when it will also partner up with additional retailers.
