The PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection lineup for December 2015 has been announced, and it’s a decent offering on all platforms.
First, as highlighted in the video above, we have two games coming to the PlayStation 4. First, Gauntlet: Slayer Edition is a dungeon crawling action RPG that offers fun cooperative play. It’s a really tight, fun, arcadey title that scratches the Diablo itch in a smaller way. Then there’s the first chapter of King’s Quest, which is more of a demo than a completely free offering. This adventure game is available in full form for $39.99, the version here is just the first chapter.
On the PlayStation 3 you have one of my favorite offshoots of the last generation. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon takes the world of Far Cry 3, soaks it in neon and fills it with 80s action tropes. The game is glorious, and you need to play it if you haven’t already. PS3 gamers will also have access to SSX, the more gritty reboot of a once great arcade style snowboarding game. It’s decent, at best.
The PS Vita sees two more games, one of which I played extensively and the other I’ve never tried. Freedom Wars is a JRPG with a few unique twists. It can be grindy, but it’s well worth the free ticket here and will serve as a huge time sink if you get into it. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is one I’ve never even heard of. I’m going to give it a shot, because why not?
The games will all be available next Tuesday, December 1. What do you think of this month’s lineup?
