It’s no secret. The PlayStation 4 is the best selling console in the world, and Sony loves bragging about it. And with that, it has just hit another impressive milestone, clocking in at 30.2 million consoles worldwide.
President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House chimed in with the news, as always, to thank the fans for making this happen.
“We are sincerely grateful that gamers across the globe have continued to choose PS4 as the best place to play since launch two years ago.
We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide. Thanks to the support of our partners, PS4 continues to be the premier platform for game and interactive entertainment innovation.”
With Fallout 4 and Metal Gear Solid V, I can honestly say that I enjoy sitting in front of my PlayStation 4 and gaming away for reasons other than work. It only took Sony two years to get it there, and I think 2016 is only going to get better once Square Enix, Atlus, and the rest of the gang start lighting a fire under the pants of the JRPG crowd.
So far, 2015 has been the best year the console has seen yet, but it’s still no PlayStation 2. Good job, guys! You almost did it!
