The free Xbox Games with Gold for December have been announced, and they’re mediocre

As November inches towards its last days, Microsoft has elected to announce the Games with Gold lineup for December 2015. The list of titles, available on the Xbox One or Xbox 360, is a bit of a miss. Honestly, I was expecting better given the influx of Xbox One buys thanks to the holiday.

Xbox One owners will have access to last year’s Thief, a game that was met with mixed reception. Thief will be up for download from December 16 through January 15, 2016. Xbox One Owners will also be able to snap up The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing for the entire month of December. That game, too, was met with middling reviews.

On the Xbox 360 front, gamers will have CastleStorm during the first half of December, and both Sacred 3 and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising for the second half of the month. The best rated of the bunch is Operation Flashpoint, but, again, we have a mediocre pile.

Now, Xbox One owners actually have access to all of the Games with Gold thanks to the recently released backwards compatibility feature. That’ll be amazing… in future months. This December is quite lackluster.
