Fossil announced Tuesday that its first Android Wear smartwatch, the oddly named “Q Founder” will be available online and in stores beginning on Wednesday, November 25.
While Fossil describes the watch as an “unassuming powerhouse,” it looks like a pretty standard Android Wear watch that features an Intel processor, the ability to customize watch faces, activity tracking. Fossil branded some of the software, including Q Apps, Q Customization and Q Curiosity, the latter of which reminds you to get up from your desk and “look from a different angle or try something new in your community.” Sounds like something I’d turn off pretty quickly.
Fossil has a well-known name in the watch space, and its brand will likely give it the power to take Android Wear outside of the relatively small technology enthusiast circles. We’ll try to get a hold of one in the near future, otherwise look for it on store shelves tomorrow for $275.
