The newest Star Wars: The Force Awakens clip is brief but outstanding

A new scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens aired last night during the American Music Awards. The clip checked in at a “whopping” 15 seconds in length, but it still managed to be good. Better than the prequels, even. I said it, call the cops.

In the scene we see Finn and Rey escaping what I assume is an attack from First Order fighters. Finn, played by John Boyega, totally freaks out when asking Rey, played by Daisey Ridley, about who’s going to pilot their escape craft. Then it’s blown up, leaving us with a small cliffhanger to dangle from until December 18.

The more I see of this movie, the more excited for it I become. I was let down in a huge way with the prequels, something I know a lot of you will agree with. The pacing of everything we’ve seen so far, though, makes The Force Awakens seem like such a more enjoyable flick. I hope that’s the case.

We’ll know soon enough. Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
