Game of Thrones returns in April, teases Jon Snow return

The finale of Game of Thrones season 5 leave a bad taste in your mouth? Well, several huge billboards, popping up in New York and Los Angeles, might finally confirm the return of one of the show’s most beloved characters.

If you haven’t seen Game of Thrones, I suggest watching it immediately. This post will contain spoilers. You’ve been warned.

At the end of season 5, poor Jon Snow was killed by his brothers in the Night’s Watch, betrayed because he trusted the Free Folk, who he wanted to help fight against the White Walkers. Well, there have been multiple rumors about his actual fate—it sure looked like he was dead—but many believe that he’s actually going to come back in the show’s next season; we’re just not sure if it’s in flashbacks or if he’s actually going to be alive.

This newest billboard, however, certainly suggests that Snow is indeed alive. Why would HBO take out enormous billboards only to remind us that Jon snow is dead? It doesn’t make sense. Teasing that the character is alive is the surest way to build buzz for the upcoming show, which unfortunately doesn’t return until next April. Gah, that’s five months from now!

The Game of Thrones world will be buzzing today following the release of these billboards. They don’t explicitly say Jon Snow is still alive, but what else would they be teasing? Is this the cruelest joke ever? We sure hope not.
