You can purchase the OnePlus X in North America beginning today—but only if you have an invite, which, as always, isn’t easy to come by. The device slots in under the more powerful OnePlus 2, but at just $250, buyers are getting a pretty phenomenal deal. Not only is it a beautiful phone, but the 1080p screen is terrific, and it packs a lot of power; the package as a whole is pretty wonderful, although it does make some compromises to attain such an inexpensive price tag.
We’re still formulating our final thoughts before bringing you a review, but needless to say the OnePlus X might be the phone to get from the fledgling Chinese startup. If you do decide to purchase the device, you get a Snapdragon 801 processor, OxygenOS, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, a 13-megapixel camera and a 2525mAh battery.
Bear in mind that the OnePlus X lacks important LTE bands (Band 12 and Band 17), so you might struggle to stay connected to LTE depending on where you live. If you can live with that, however, the device is a pretty awesome deal, and, based on the design alone, looks like it should cost way more than $250.
You can sign up to get an invite over at OnePlus’ website. If you already have one, your time has come to buy what we believe is a great value proposition. Check out our hands-on of the device if you haven’t already, and stay tuned for our full review.
