Amazon has announced that its Prime Same Day service, which allows customers to order goods for same-day delivery, is expanding in the U.K. Previously only available in London and parts of Hertfordshire and Berkshire, the service now serves nine additional towns and cities.
Prime Say Day is available on over 1 million items available through Amazon, and allows customers who place an order before noon to have it delivered between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. the same day. You don’t even need to spend a certain amount to qualify.
“Prime members are telling us that they love the convenience of free same-day delivery so we are quickly introducing it to many new areas of the UK. And we continue to invest in our delivery network to expand our fast delivery options to even more Prime members,” said Christopher North, Managing Director of Amazon.co.uk.
Areas now served by Prime Same Day include Birmingham, Bristol, Dudley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Walsall, and Wolverhampton — as well as Greater London and AL, HP, and SL postcodes.
Some postcodes in Birmingham and London will have the option for super-speedy one-hour delivery at a price of £6.99, otherwise Prime Same Day is free to Prime subscribers. Non-Prime subscribers can also take advantage of it at a cost of £9.99 per order.
