Samsung’s new Gear VR now available to pre-order in Europe

Samsung’s new Gear VR headset, which was first made available to pre-order in the U.S. last week, is now available in Europe. Germany and the Netherlands appear to be getting the device first, but we expect it to be available in other markets soon.

The new Gear VR, the first official consumer version, is not only half the price of the original model, but it’s also compatible with more devices — including the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, and the Galaxy S6 edge+.

Customers in the U.S. can already pre-order Gear VR from Best Buy, and it will be available from T-Mobile soon. Now Samsung has added the device to its online stores for Germany and the Netherlands, making it available in Europe for the first time for €100 (approx. $107).

According to its Dutch website, locals will receive the device in just a few days, with shipping set to begin on Saturday, November 21. Those in Germany will have to wait until December 1.
