NipponIchi’s popular Disgaea franchise is the latest iconic JRPG series to migrate to the PC platform. Steam has an official store page up and ready for the first game in the series, the PlayStation 2 classic Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and it is all set to launch in Feb. 2016.

Best part about this is that I’m not region-locked out! Thanks a lot, NipponIchi! You win!

Re-titled Disagaea PC, NipponIchi obviously intends for this to be the game’s definitive edition. It comes in full-fledged HD, has cloud saves¬†and achievements, and even comes equipped with all the bonus content from the PSP port, Disgaea:¬†Afternoon of Darkness.

If this is a success, which it should be since Disgaea games are on a whole other level of excellent, maybe NipponIchi will be bringing the entire series to the PC. Most recently, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance launched on the PlayStation 4, and fans seem to love it. I’ve been a little too busy to dig into it so far, but my gut tells me that NipponIchi will be taking advantage of its new outlet.

Disagaea PC will be launching for the PC in Feb. 2016.
