Skype has begun offering free calls to friends and family in France following the devastating attacks in Paris on Friday night. Anyone with a Skype account can call landlines and mobiles in France without charge “for the next few days.”

“In light of the devastating events that have taken place in Paris, we want to help people stay in touch with friends, family and colleague,” Skype announced on Saturday.

“So, with immediate effect we are making all domestic and international calls to landlines and mobiles in France free of charge for the next few days… Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these terrible events in Paris.”

The offer excludes calls to special, premium service, and non-geographical numbers, Skype says.

We don’t know for sure when this offer will end, unfortunately, but it’s certainly worth taking advantage of if you have family and friends in France.
