Sony’s PlayStation Vue service comes to the Fire TV

Kicking cable to the curb is getting even easier with the Fire TV. Sony on Thursday announced its PlayStation Vue service is now available on the Fire TV and Fire TV stick, making the service even more accessible outside of Sony’s own gadgets. Oh, and Google Chromecast support is coming soon, too, giving you yet another reason never to subscribe to cable again, especially after Vue’s support for Disney’s lineup of channels.

Vue subscribers could previously only access the service through the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or through iOS devices. Today’s news, however, means even more consumers can jump onto the Vue bandwagon, which increasingly looks like the Internet TV service to beat. PlayStation Vue is only available in select markets right now, but it’s one of the better deals on the market.

Sony also announced that its Core and Elite packages are being discounted slightly in time for the holidays; Core will be $54.99 (down from $60), while Elite will be $64.99 (down from $70).
