Fallout 4 is off to a tremendous start on the PC platform.
Steam Spy, a site that monitors Steam sales metrics and produces all sorts of interesting data snapshots, fired off a tweet based on Steam’s recent data.
Here’s the tweet in question.
Fallout 4 had around 1.2M owners on Steam on day 1. It will take 3 full days for my site graphs to catch up, sorry.

Are these official sales figures? No, certainly not.
The way I understand it, Steam Spy gathers data from steam users by using publically available web API provided by Valve. It basically looks at user profiles to build stats, so in this case it sees more than 1.2 million Steam users owning Fallout 4 in 24 hours.
That’s pretty nifty, and I imagine it’s very indicative of the sales start Fallout 4 is having. That’s on the PC alone, by the way. Just Steam. Adding in all the other PC marketplaces, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to the mix will send that figure soaring.
