Amazon Prime Video now available on Roku boxes in the U.K.

Amazon Prime Video is finally available on Roku boxes for users in the U.K., meaning you don’t have to buy a new Fire TV to stream Amazon’s original shows in 4K. Prime subscribers can login with their Amazon account to enjoy movies and TV shows at no extra cost.

Prime Video has been available to Roku owners in the U.S. for many years, but for some reason, support has been slow to make its way across the pond, meaning Prime subscribers needed a compatible Smart TV, a Fire TV, or a modern games console to enjoy Prime Video on their TV.

But now that has finally changed, and the Prime Video “channel” is available on Roku boxes in good old Great Britain. What’s more, a Roku is one of just two devices — alongside the new Fire TV — that lets you enjoy Prime Video content in “Ultra HD” 4K resolution on support Roku boxes and TVs.

To enjoy Prime Video on your Roku, simply search for the Prime Video channel, then login with your Amazon account.
