First Apple TV update, tvOS 9.0.1, rolling out now

Apple just released the very first update for the new Apple TV (2015). It’s not the beta build of tvOS 9.1 that’s already being tested, but rather a smaller tvOS 9.0.1 update that probably offers some smaller performance tweaks.

New Apple TV owners, who have already seen a fair share of updates to the App Store, should be notified of the new software the next time they boot up their Apple TV. As you can see in the image above, Apple doesn’t provide a changelog of the new features, if there are even any at all, so we’ll need to dig through it a bit before we know of anything front-facing changes.

If you don’t get a notification, the patch can be applied through the Apple TV settings app, which can be found right on the homescreen.
