Galaxy A9 spotted with a massive 6-inch screen

Samsung’s flagship phones may get most of the attention, but the company also offers some pretty great mid-range devices with its Galaxy A series. Previous entries like the Galaxy A8 have combined stunning design with reasonable specs, and it looks like the Galaxy A9 will take things a step further.

The rumored smartphone was recently spotted on India’s shipping database Zauba with a hefty 6-inch screen. Based on earlier leaks we’re also expecting a 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 620 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 16-megapixel camera. Combine that with a sleek metal design and you should have a pretty nice new device.

The Galaxy A8 launched for about $515. That isn’t exactly cheap, though it does cost less than a flagship Samsung phone. Hopefully the new Galaxy A9 will cost about the same (or less), though that big display could potentially push the price up a bit.

Samsung doesn’t typically hold big press events for its Galaxy A series smartphones, and the news could arrive at any time. It sounds like the device is still in testing though, so it could be a while before anything is officially announced.
