A little game you might have heard of is launching next week, and people seem pretty excited for it. Fallout 4 has been on the forefront of gamers’ minds ever since 2011 with many wondering if Bethesda would be able to make the leap with Fallout 3 into Fallout 4 as it did with Oblivion into Skyrim.
Next week, we finally find out. But for now, here is a sneak peak into Bethesda’s latest open-world game thanks to three little words I’ve been waiting a long time to write: “Fallout 4 Launch Trailer.” Or is that four words? “Trailer,” yeah, that’s the one that pushed it over.
I like it! It’s a bit too Hollywood for me at times, something that Bethesda has always found various ways to rival. Such storytelling devices have never really been a part of its approach, with games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim rarely if ever taking the viewpoint out of the protagonist’s eye-sockets. It seems really awkward and out of place when combined with Bethesda’s usual rough character models and spectacular gameplay.
War never changes, but I guess video game development does. Bethesda wanted to tell a more Hollywood-esque story in line with the times, even though its forte has always been more centered on world-building. I’ll just have to sit back and see if it gels with me. I just wanna get out there and explore, though.
Fallout 4 will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 10.
