Flickr for iOS 9 adds 3D Touch and more

by Jacob Kleinman | November 5, 2015November 5, 2015 3:00 pm PDT

Flickr is rolling out a new update this week designed to take advantage of 3D Touch and iOS 9. The latest version of Yahoo’s photo storage service adds some great new features, though most are limited to the pressure sensitive screens included in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

If you already picked up a new iPhone, you’ll be able to preview a photo in your Flickr Camera Roll by pressing down on it. Then push down a little harder for a fullscreen view. The updated app also adds Quick Actions that let you jump to options for uploading a photo, checking your feed, notifications and search straight from the homescreen.

If you’re running iOS 9 on an older iPhone there’s still something here for you. The updated app lets you search for specific albums, groups and recently viewed Flickr photos from Apple’s updated Spotlight search. You can also send someone directly to the Flickr app thanks to universal links.

You can grab the update now via the App Store link below, or head to Flickr’s blog for even more info.
