Entertainment Weekly has provided a first look of J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, with several pictures of the gang on the film’s set. It’s all very Harry Potter-y, as you’d expect from the prequel, and it has a very throwback feel, capturing the more classic dress and style from the 1920s.
Fantastic Beasts will chronicle the adventures of Newt Scamander, and will provide history behind the wizarding world before the events of Harry Potter. A book of the same name has actually already appeared in the Harry Potter universe as the character’s textbook in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The film will explain how that book came to be, and give context to Scamander as a character and globe-trotting historian.
Much more information will be unveiled by Entertainment Weekly in the coming days, including how the film will differ from the Potter films, and what creatures to expect.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled for a Nov. 18, 2016 release.
