I’ve had a few concerns with some of the creative choices that Bethesda has made towards Fallout 4, but one of the issues I got over pretty quickly is the graphics. Many thought it didn’t debut that well at E3 2015 in the looks department, but slowly over time, subsequent screenshots and footage leaks have shown that maybe it was just the feed that looked bad. That’s because Fallout 4 looks so good!
No, it isn’t the best looking game out there, but when put next to Fallout 3, it’s very clear that graphic technology has come a long way in the eight years that separate these games. Redditor Nukeclears has gone to great lengths using Fallout 3 to recreate some of Fallout 4’s glamour shots that Bethesda has used to hype the game. Put them side by side and you’ll see that there is no comparison.
Fallout 4 is a huge leap over its predecessor. Hopefully these shots will help put those fears to rest. You can think that Fallout 4 doesn’t look as good as something like The Order 1886, and that’s fine. You go ahead and think that, but to say that it is something that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 could run is just plain wrong.
Fallout 4 will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 10.
