MonkeyPaw promised fans that it would bring the English version of Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return to PlayStation Network, and two years later, it finally delivers. WhoopieCamp’s popular cult-platformer will be released this Tuesday when the PlayStation Store updates.

Last February, MonkeyPaw was forced to release the Japanese version of the game since it was unable to secure the license for the English version. To try and make up for it, it released a video walkthrough showing gamers how to proceed through the game, but fans didn’t react positively. Others tried to justify the Japanese release as perfectly fine “because it’s just a platformer,” but that’s far from the truth. Tomba! 2 is a game with goals and secret objectives that must be read to progress and uncover other points.

However, now that MonkeyPaw has fulfilled its promise, hopefully all parties involved will be able to put that in the past. Way to stick with it, guys. Both publishers who try to do the right thing and gamers alike have to suffer through the bureaucracy of trying to obtain old video games. Why does it have to be so pathetically difficult? Certainly there has to be a better way.

Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return marks the second week in a row we’ve seen a viable game hit the PSOne Classics line-up after Tecmo’s Deception launched last week. Hopefully, this latest push from publishers lands us more quality games!
