Sony’s new Xperia Z5 lineup will enjoy even better battery life thanks to an improved Stamina Mode in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, according to one tipster.
The Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, and even the smaller Xperia Z5 Compact all enjoy decent battery life as things stand, and Sony’s Stamina Mode promises to increase that by a whopping 400 percent by closing down background tasks that may not be necessary when your device is asleep.
And in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, that Stamina Mode is going to get even more effective, according to reliable tipster @Ricciolo — who says the Xperia Z5 family will become “real champions” when it comes to battery life.
It’s unclear if older Sony Xperia devices can expect similar improvements. We expect Sony to make the same changes across the board, but we won’t know for sure until the Japanese company starts rolling out its Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates.
Sony has confirmed when that will happen yet, but in a post on its Sony Mobile blog in early October, the company said is it “working hard to bring this major update to as many of our devices as possible, as quickly as we can.”
