New Apple TV won’t have Siri music controls until next year

The new Apple TV allows you to use Siri and your voice to search for video content through several sources but, it turns out, you can’t use Siri to search for music.

BuzzFeed, which recently spoke to Apple as early Apple TV reviews began to populate online, confirmed that Siri will search through Apple Music beginning early next year. It’s unclear what the current boundary is; Siri on the iPhone is capable of searching for music. And the Android TV units such as the NVIDIA SHIELD are also more than capable of allowing a user to search through the Google Play Store using voice.

This sounds like a terribly silly omission given that the Apple TV’s software is based on iOS. Guess I’ll be sitting out on the Apple TV until early next year.
