Halo 5: Guardians won’t have any single player campaign DLC

I hope you liked the campaign for Halo 5: Guardians because that’s all you’re going to get from it. That’s the latest from Creative Director Josh Holmes in an interview with Red Bull.

Speaking on expanding Halo’s rapidly growing universe, Holmes says that you’ll just have to wait for the next game to dive further into the series’ timeline. Hopefully you got enough out of it though because Halo 5’s campaign certainly sounds long enough.

“The length of Halo 5: Guardians campaign is nearly twice that of Halo 4, based on average playtime in user research testing.

While we’re always looking for new ways to expand the Halo universe, we do not currently have any plans to release future campaign content for Halo 5: Guardians.”

That’s just the way the world works these days, I suppose. Especially in the shooter genre, the bulk of the profit can be found in the multiplayer portions of the game, so that’s where developers obviously want to charge. Maps, guns, let’s see your wallet, bud.

Plus, we’ve never seen story DLC from this franchise.

If you’ve beaten Halo 5: Guardians already, how does it stand up? Do you think you need more, or will you be satisfied with Halo’s lore until the next game comes around?
