Verizon is expected to reveal the DROID Turbo 2 next week, but a new leak may reveal some of the customization options the company plans to offer. A photo shared to Chinese social network Weibo shows seven different potential back covers for the upcoming smartphone.
The DROID Turbo 2 is allegedly set to launch with Moto Maker support, so it’s no surprise you’ll have your pick of design choices. It looks like you’ll be able to choose between four different woven nylon/plastic options in black, red, blue and gray. There are also three more leather options in black, brown and tan.
The new DROID may also offer a “shatterproof” 5.4-inch Quad HD display, a 3760mAh battery, a 21-megapixel rear camera, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of storage. We assume you’ll also be able to customize a few other details, including the front panel color, highlights and maybe even a personalized engraving.
We’re also expecting Verizon to reveal the DROID MAXX 2, which may just be a carrier-branded version of the Moto X Play. If that’s the case it should offer a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 21-megapixel camera, a 3630mAh battery, a Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM.
Verizon’s big DROID event kicks off next week on Tuesday, October 27. We’ll be covering the entire show live from New York so check back then for hands-on analysis and more.
