Halo 5 introduces Spartan Companies, the game’s take on clans

If teaming up with your friends and strangers is how you get your kicks in the video game world, Spartan Companies might be for you. 343 Industries has revealed a new Halo Waypoint feature for Halo 5: Guardians called Spartan Companies, and this seems like their take on the whole clan thing.

As the video above touts, Spartan Companies will let players filter through the crowd to find those they would like to play with. Maybe you only want to play Warzone with folks. Maybe you’re looking for a super hardcore collection of gamers who only want to play Capture the Flag. You’ll be able to find like-minded gamers easily with this feature.

Spartan Companies can have their own custom logos made from a preset pile of tools, too.

Yep, this is basically just a clan feature specific to Halo with an interesting tack on player filtering in order to find those who best fit your gaming style. That’s not a backhanded compliment, either. I genuinely think this is a good idea for today’s world of online gaming.

The video also goes over some of the REQ packs available right now. You’ll get a free REQ pack by heading to the official site and checking out Spartan Companies.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to release for the Xbox One on Oct. 27, 2015. We’ll have more on the game, including our review, before then.
