Nintendo reveals a 2DS bundled with Yo-Kai Watch for $99

If you have a kid setting in the early age bracket, able to read and getting ready to really get into games, you might want to pay attention to the new bundle Nintendo has announced. The company is pairing the upcoming Yo-Kai Watch, a game that’s been an absolute sensation with kids in Japan, with the Nintendo 2DS, the version of their handheld aimed at the younger audience.

They’re selling the bundle for $99, which makes it pretty attractive for the holiday season. If Yo-Kai Watch is received as well in the States as it has been in Japan, this could be a colossal hit. It’s stood on Pokemon levels in its home country, though I don’t see it doing the same thing here.

Here’s how Nintendo describes the game in the release.

YO-KAI WATCH features hundreds of sometimes cute, sometimes spooky and usually mischievous Yo-kai that inhabit our world. Players must use their Yo-kai Watch to find Yo-kai, befriend them, and turn them into a team to battle other Yo-kai. More than 200 Yo-kai are hidden all around the world, and each Yo-kai has its own unique skills and characteristics.

The bundle ships on November 6, 2015. That’s the release date of Yo-Kai Watch, too.

I’m considering a 2DS for my almost-5-year-old this year, though Yo-Kai Watch wouldn’t be good for him. He can’t read yet. If he could, I’d be all over this.
