Halo 5: Guardians’ first 30 minutes of gameplay and cutscenes show up

Feeling a little impatient? We’re barely a week away from the full release of Halo 5: Guardians, but for those of you who have an itch to scratch, here are the first thirty minutes of the game. Cutscenes and gameplay all totally included.

The first mission stars a group of Spartans sent on a rescue mission to re-obtain a one-armed Dr. Halsey from a pack of rogue Sangheli. After blasting through the outer defenses, the actual hostage situation itself proves to be the easiest part for the special force.

And then we finally step into the boots of the Master Chief himself, who surgically cuts through enemy lines as usual before stumbling on something… mysterious. A hint at where Cortana might be? Cut to black…

That’s it. Two missions, but it should be enough to wet your whistle until you get your hands on your own copy. Halo 5: Guardians looks about as “Halo” as it gets, and the Xbox One has done a lot for the graphics. It will be released on Oct. 27.
