Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer gets teased ahead of release

There is no longer any doubt: Monday will see the full Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer released.

Following up on the release of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens theatrical poster on Sunday morning, ESPN and Disney began teasing the premiere of the new trailer during this week’s Monday Night Football. To get everyone ready for this momentous occasion, two teases have made their way online.

First up, we have a new scene of Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) getting out of his X-Wing, and patting Finn (John Boyega) on the shoulder as he passes. Finn seems a bit bewildered by the gesture, but it gives us a chance as the camera pans to see the Millennium Falcon parked in the distance.

The second tease gives some context to another scene we’ve seen before of Rey (Daisy Ridley) looking towards the sky. Now we can see First Order TIE fighters and troop transports are passing overhead.

And finally, we have a more generic tease that shows brief glimpses of all the main characters. We do see some new footage of Rey on Jakku and Poe Dameron holding a blaster and looking puzzled by something.

The new trailer is scheduled to air sometime on Monday evening U.S. time, but no exact time has been given as of yet.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
