Motorola has already begun testing Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its new Moto X Pure Edition, the company has confirmed. But don’t get too excited; this doesn’t mean a formal soak test has started just yet.
“There have been a couple reports of a Marshmallow “soak test” that has started for Moto X 2015 Pure Edition,” writes Motorola’s David Schuster on Google+. “Just want to make it clear that we have NOT started a formal “soak test”.”
Schuster adds, however, that Motorola has begun a small test drive with Marshmallow on the Moto X 2015 Pure Edition, which it will carry out over the next couple of weeks. The result of this test will determine when the full soak test is available.
In other words, if this test drive goes well, we should see a soak test fairly soon. But if Motorola discovers a bunch of problems that needs to be addressed, we could be waiting several weeks — if not months — for it to arrive.
Nevertheless, this is good news for those who have adopted the Moto X 2015 Pure Edition, who can now rest assured Motorola is already working to bring Google’s latest software to their device.
