Surface Book pre-orders return with long delays

It only took a few days for pre-orders on Microsoft’s new Surface Book to sell out. Now the laptop-tablet hybrid is back in the company’s online store, though with some significant delays.

Order the Surface Book from Microsoft and it won’t ship for another five to six weeks. That’s a pretty long wait considering the device is set to officially launch on Oct. 26. At this point you may be better off waiting until its release, heading to a Microsoft store and hoping for the best.

It’s no surprise to see all this excitement around the Surface Book. Microsoft’s first laptop promises one of the best Windows 10 experiences around, with a beautiful metal design and a detachable 13.5-inch touchscreen display. We spent a few minutes with the device at Microsoft’s press event, but we can’t wait to really dig in.

Hopefully Microsoft can speed up production and get enough Surface Books off the assembly line to keep everyone happy.
