We’re expecting the upcoming OnePlus X to cost around $250, but it turns out the new phone could be even cheaper than we imagined. Frequent Weibo tipster Leaksfly claims the device will cost 1,399 yuan, which translates to just $220.
The OnePlus X is expected to offer an updated design with mid-range specs. That includes a a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 2450mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It could also add NFC, Quick Charge 2.0 and a water-resistant design, which were all missing from the OnePlus 2.
The Chinese phone-maker appears to be prepping for an Oct. 29 event where the device will presumably be revealed. If the OnePlus X really does cost just $220, the company could have another hit on its hands. Either way, it looks new device will come at a budget-friendly price.
OnePlus has been uncharacteristically silent about its next smartphone The company typically likes to build up hype by teasing each new spec and feature ahead of the official unveiling. With just a few weeks left before the OnePlus X makes its debut, we’re more excited than ever to see what the phone-maker has up its sleeve.
