Halo 5: LIVE announced, a 6-hour livestream the day before launch

If you’re looking to drench yourself in all things Halo right before the release of Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft has your back. The Xbox team has announced a six-hour-long livestream broadcast that they’re calling “a global celebration.”

The event starts on October 26, the day before Halo 5: Guardians‘ release date, at 6pm eastern. Some quick and shoddy math tells us the stream will end at midnight on the east coast of the US, just in time for gamers to fire up their copies.

What should you expect from the stream? The YouTube description signals that it’s “jam-packed with exclusive gameplay reveals, celebrity appearances, live interviews with 343 Industries, special tune-ins from around the world, and much more.” I imagine we’ll be able to count the likes of Nathan Fillion in for the celebrity appearances, given that he’s become a constant in the series now.

What do you think? Will you be watching the livestream? It’s exclusively going down on YouTube. We’ll make sure to shoot out a post with the stream embedded a few minutes before it begins, so check back on October 26 if you can’t find the link elsewhere.

Halo 5: Guardians hits the Xbox One on October 27. We’ll have our review of the game up before then. Stay tuned.
