BLU on Thursday announced two new smartphones with a big focus on massive batteries. The two phones, dubbed the BLU Studio Energy 2 and Energy X, pack 5,000mAh and 4,000mAh batteries, respectively. That’s like a phone with its own battery pack attached to it.
You won’t find crazy high-end specs here, but that hasn’t been BLU’s smartphone strategy, which instead puts importance on price. The Studio Energy 2 (pictured above) has a 5-inch 720p display, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with microSD card slot, an 8MP camera, a 5MP front-facing camera and a MediaTek 6735 processor.
The Energy X (pictured below) packs the same display and processor but ships with 8GB of onboard storage (with a microSD card slot), 1GB of RAM and a 2MP front-facing camera. Both phones run Lollipop.
The Studio Energy 2 supports T-Mobile and AT&T LTE networks, in addition to prepaid networks such as MetroPCS, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile and Cricket, the company said. The Energy X supports all GSM networks in the U.S. with up to HSPA+ speeds.
The Studio Energy 2 is priced at $179 while the Energy X is priced at $109. Both are available on Amazon now.
