‘Thor: Ragnarok’ to introduce two major female leads

A new report from Birth Movies Death has revealed some new details about where Marvel wants to take Thor: Ragnarok, including some tidbits about potential new characters. Remember that rumor claiming Hulk would play a prominent role in Thor’s next adventure? Well, Birth Movies Death says the two heroes are going to meet the Valkyries, and may even introduce Brunnhilde to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But that’s not the only new female character joining the fray.

Birth Movies Death also mentions The Enchantress, who is the archenemy of Valkyrie. The report isn’t exactly clear on whether we’ll see the group of Norse mythological beings, or the standalone superheroine, who was a member of The Defenders and also hung out with Doctor Strange. If we see the character, there’s a possibility she’ll show up in the Doctor Strange standalone film, which is set for a release at the end of next year.

What’s more, the script for Thor: Ragnarok is apparently the darkest in the MCU (the title kind of gave that away already), which is one of the reasons why Taika Waititi was chosen to direct. This is supposed to wrap up the standalone Thor movies, and will likely be a big setup for what’s going to take place in Avengers: Infinity War. We’ll also probably find out what Loki has planned, as the last time we saw him he was posing as Odin on the throne of Asgard.

Thor: Ragnarok isn’t coming out until July 28, 2017, so nothing is set in stone this far ahead of production. Once rumors do start kicking up in the coming months, we’ll have to keep an eye on some of Hollywood’s most powerful women to see who might play these characters. Have any suggestions? I’m sure Eva Green would make a wicked Enchantress.
