Nintendo partnered with mobile game and back-end creator DeNA earlier this year. The plan when the two joined forces was to have DeNA lend Nintendo network design and support, as well has have DeNA work with Nintendo as they take a crack at making full-on mobile games for smartphone platforms.
It’s been months, and Nintendo still hasn’t announced their first mobile effort. That’s likely to change soon, according to DeNA West CEO Shintaro Asako. While on stage at GamesBeat 2015, Asako was asked about when the first mobile Nintendo title should arrive.
“Soon,” he said. “We should be able to announce the game.”
That’s it. Nintendo and DeNA had already previously stated that they aim to have their first game out by the end of the year. The mobile gaming world works on quick turnarounds. So, if Nintendo and DeNA announce a game in in the coming weeks, expect it up on iOS and Android shortly after that.
What do you think we’ll see?
