Google recently updated Hangouts to version 5.0, and users can download the latest version now. You won’t find a brand new user interface or huge front-facing changes, as we’ve seen in earlier releases. Instead, this version seems to primarily focus on user experience and making the software as bug-free as possible.

Android Authority said users should notice that GIFs now play properly in conversation mode, MMS text is supported for Google Voice in Hangouts, and you should find that the software will no longer randomly scroll on its own. That last bug is enough to convince me to update the software as soon as possible, and I know plenty of folks who have been waiting for MMS/Google Voice support to return to hangouts.

The update should be available in the Google Play Store now. If you don’t see it, hit the source to grab the APK.
