Firewatch, the intriguing first person exploration game from developer Campo Santo, has a release date, and it’s not too far off.
Firewatch tells the story of Henry, a fire lookout in a national park, as he explores mysteries and watches over his part of the park. The main hook of the game is conversations Henry has with his contact at the base station, Delilah. Things start to take a turn after Henry’s tower is broken into while he’s out on patrol.
It has a great visual style that suggests it should be a pleasure for the eyes as well. The team is still “polishing, optimizing, writing and developing the last bits of the game,” and plans for a worldwide simultaneous release.
Campo Santo says their game is set to release on Feb. 9, 2016, for PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux) and PlayStation 4.
