People are still taking many a journey to the red planet with Matt Damon.
1. The Martian
It may not have broken an October opening record last weekend, but The Martian is holding on well. The science thriller dropped just 31.9 percent in its second weekend to take in $37M for a new domestic total of $108.7M off of a $108M budget. Globally it stands at $227.81M.
2. Hotel Transylvania 2
Hotel Transylvania 2 is outpacing the original film still and broke $100M this weekend, two days faster than the first film. It landed in second place with $20.3M for a new domestic total of $116.82M.
Still no word on a third film, but it seems like it’s a given at this point.
Pan opened to poor reviews and soft box office. It came in with just $15.53M off of a $150M budget. This does not bode well for its final results.
4. The Intern
The new Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro comedy The Intern held on to fourth place for a second weekend and took in $8.66M and has a new domestic total of $49.57M off of a $40M budget.
Drug thriller Sicario dropped a respectable 39.5 percent in its second weekend of wide release. It took in $7.35M for a new domestic total of $26.7M off of its $30M budget.
